Allison Anderson

Hi. I'm Allison. I was introduced to the healing effects of massage in 1994, after suffering a back injury requiring me to undergo major surgery. Physiotherapy and Deep Tissue massage were the two treatments that got me back to being an active, healthy young adult. After being told I'd never carry a backpack again, I was determined to prove the doctors wrong, and I did. A few years later while working at desk-bound corporate job, I decided that Massage Therapy was my calling and made the commitment to re-train. I received my professional massage training in 2002 from the highly regarded Lauterstien-Conway Massage School in Austin, Texas, U.S.A. After receiving my massage training, I worked and practiced under a physiotherapist, learning both assessment techniques and proven, Myofascial Release techniques. I ran a full-time practice in the U.S.A. until immigrating to New Zealand, (yay!), with my family  in 2006.

I love being an active person and I regularly endeavor in trail running, day tramping, mountain biking, yoga and Pilates. Most recently, I've been enjoying exploring the world of swimming, weight training and mindfulness practice. I am the mother of 2 active kids and the wife of a fit and sporty husband. I try to stay fit and flexible enough to keep up with the family-  Our Jack Russell Terrier included! 


From both work experience and sporting endeavors, I intimately understand the needs of office workers, serious athletes and everyone in between. The style of my massage work tends to be more structurally-oriented, concentrating on specific muscular injuries and joint issues but I also focus on empowering clients with prevention, rehabilitation, and stress management tools.
